Thoracoscopy

Thoracoscopy, also known as pleuroscopy, is a minimally invasive procedure that allows pulmonologists and thoracic surgeons to examine the pleural cavity, lungs, and surrounding structures. Using a thin, flexible tube with a camera (thoracoscope), this procedure helps diagnose and treat a variety of chest conditions without the need for a large incision.

Our Thoracoscopy Services Include:

Diagnostic Thoracoscopy:
Used to investigate unexplained chest pain, pleural effusion (fluid in the chest), lung infections, or suspected cancer. It helps obtain tissue samples (biopsy) for further analysis.

Therapeutic Thoracoscopy:
Provides treatment for pleural diseases such as draining fluid collections (pleural effusion), removing adhesions, or performing pleurodesis to prevent recurrent fluid buildup.

Minimally Invasive Approach:
Performed through small incisions, reducing pain, recovery time, and the risk of complications compared to traditional open surgery.

Real-time Imaging & Biopsy:
The thoracoscope allows for real-time visualization of the pleura and lung tissue, providing accurate biopsy and treatment during the same procedure.

Post-Procedure Care & Monitoring:
Close monitoring to ensure proper healing, address any complications, and provide guidance for a smooth recovery.
