Pulmonary Function Testing

Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) is a set of non-invasive tests used to evaluate how well your lungs are functioning. These tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of airflow, and gas exchange to diagnose respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and interstitial lung disease (ILD).

Our Pulmonary Function Testing Services Include:

Spirometry:
The most common test to assess airflow and measure lung volumes. It helps diagnose conditions like asthma and COPD by evaluating how much air you can exhale and how quickly.

Lung Volumes and Capacities:
Using techniques such as plethysmography or gas dilution, we assess how much air your lungs can hold, helping diagnose restrictive lung diseases or lung capacity issues.

Diffusion Capacity (DLCO):
Measures how efficiently oxygen passes from your lungs into your bloodstream, essential for detecting conditions like emphysema or pulmonary fibrosis.

Pre and Post-Bronchodilator Testing:
Assesses the effectiveness of medications in improving lung function, which is critical for managing asthma or COPD.

Complete Diagnostic Interpretation:
After conducting the tests, our pulmonologists provide a detailed analysis of your lung function, guiding treatment options and managing chronic respiratory conditions.
